Zanzibar introduces compulsory insurance for foreign tourists from October 1, 2024
The authorities of Zanzibar (Tanzania) announced the introduction of compulsory insurance for foreign tourists arriving on the island through the airport or seaport from October 1, 2024. This rule applies to absolutely all countries, including Germany and other European countries.
Tourists are now required to purchase a policy from a company approved by the government, even if they already have an international medical policy.
The insurance policy must be valid for 92 days and include a wide range of cover, including emergency medical expenses, body repatriation, compensation for accidents, delays and loss of luggage, as well as legal expenses and personal liability. Foreign nationals can take out an individual, family (3-9 people) or group (10 people or more) Zanzibar insurance policy, including children from 0-18 years old.
Important: The policy must be taken out in advance before entering Zanzibar.
You can do it online by contacting our company. The insurance policy received by e-mail should be printed out and taken on the trip.
