The annual Green Card draw has begun: Enter the 2024 lottery

The annual U.S. Green Card lottery began on October 2 and will run until November 5, 2024 inclusive.

Acceptance of applications is officially open through the website of the U.S. Department of State. Thus, everyone can already fill out the application form.

Anyone can participate in the Green Card lottery, for this you need to meet simple entry requirements: having a passport, having a complete secondary education and having citizenship of the country that is eligible to participate in the lottery.

The basic application requirements are minimal. You will need personal data and a JPEG passport photo. The photo must be in color and taken within the last six months.

Important points to consider when applying:

• Any applicant who is 18 years of age or older can participate in the lottery. Incomplete children must be listed on the application form by a parent or legal guardian.
• A completed high school education or 2 years of work experience in the last 5 years that you can verify is required.
• You can only enter the lottery once during the year. Repeated submission of the questionnaire will be rejected and may result in disqualification.
• The questionnaire is to be filled in English only and you will be given 30 minutes to do so. In case you have not managed to fill in the form within this time, you can do it again. But you will have to fill it out again.
• You can fill in the form only once. Carefully check all the data before sending the form. You can only correct mistakes before you submit the application.
• You can only resubmit your application if you have not received confirmation that your application has been registered.
• Once your application has been accepted, you will receive a confirmation of this, be sure to save it until the outcome of the draw.
