Digital changes in visas: Belarus announces the introduction of e-Visas
To simplify visa procedures and attract foreign citizens , Belarus plans to introduce an electronic visa system in 2025. The electronic visa (e-Visa) will be designed for single entry and will allow staying in the country for up to 30 days. Visas will be classified into four categories depending on the purpose of travel: tourism, business, private visits and participation in cultural, sporting or educational events.
Electronic visa applications will have to be submitted through the Single Portal of Electronic Services (EPEU OAIS). The processing time for applications will be seven calendar days, without the possibility of an accelerated procedure.
Visa applicants will be required to submit the following documents:
- A completed online application form.
- A valid passport.
- Proof of health insurance.
- Online payment by credit card.
In order to obtain a visa, the online application must be completed with questions about the traveler, study or work, the inviting party, and other travel information.
Citizens of 67 countries and territories will be able to use the new system of electronic visas to travel to Belarus:
The e-visa system will increase the country's tourist attractiveness and simplify the entry process for foreign citizens.
