Zambia abolishes visas for citizens of 53 countries from January 2025
Zambia has announced a significant expansion of its visa-free policy, which will now apply to 53 new countries. The Minister of Home Affairs and Internal Security of Zambia announced this at a press conference on December 18. The visa waiver will come into effect on January 1, 2025.
This initiative aligns with the call of the Zambian President, who aims to make the country more attractive to tourists, businessmen, and investors. The visa waiver will open up new economic opportunities, contributing to the development of tourism, trade, and job creation.
Currently, Zambia already provides visa-free access to citizens of 114 countries, including Germany and other European states. With the introduction of the new policy, the total number of visa-free countries will increase to 167, which will undoubtedly attract more travelers and investments to the country. This expansion of the visa waiver will be an important step in stimulating the tourism industry and strengthening Zambia's economic ties with other states.
