Libya enters a new era of tourism with the launch of e-visa

Libya, one of the most beautiful countries in North Africa, has announced the launch of an e-visa for foreign visitors, opening up new opportunities for tourists and travellers from all over the world. From 21 March 2024, visitors will be able to apply for an e-visa to travel to this unique Arab country.

The new initiative was introduced last year and brought to life by the Libyan government. With its launch, international travellers will be closer to exploring the rich cultural heritage, vast sandy deserts and exciting adventures that Libya offers.

"Foreigners can now apply for visas electronically from tomorrow Thursday, 21 March 2024. I am grateful to the Libyan Holding Company of Post, Telecommunications and Information Technology, the General Passport Office of Immigration and Citizenship and the General Directorate of Information for launching this electronic service, which is the first of its kind in Libya," said Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs of the Government of Libya, Adel Jumaa.

The visa application process is now more convenient and accessible. International travellers can apply for an e-visa, this greatly simplifies and speeds up the application process, making Libya an even more attractive travel destination.

The e-visa initiative is part of the Libyan government's strategy to improve the tourism environment and promote the industry. The creation of the e-visa will help remove bureaucratic hurdles and make the visa application process more transparent and efficient.

Now, in order to obtain an e-visa to visit Libya, applicants must provide various information including personal details, birth details, residential address and information about the planned visit. After completing the application form, applicants will have to upload copies of their passport and photo ID.

The e-visa opens new perspectives for the development of tourism in Libya, facilitating the travelling process for thousands of tourists and allowing them to enjoy all the delights of this amazing country.
