New Zealand is moving the transit visa process online.
As of August 12, 2024, New Zealand has simplified the transit visa process into an online format through an updated immigration system, according to Immigration New Zealand.
However, this innovation does not apply to Chinese citizens applying for a group transit visa - they still need to submit paper documents through the visa center.
As a reminder, a transit visa is valid for 24 hours and does not allow you to leave the airport. The visa also applies to your spouse and children under the age of 19, while children over the age of 19 must apply for the visa on their own.

From September 4, visa changes will also come into effect for Fijian nationals, who will be able to apply for a NZeTA Transit instead of a transit visa.
