The move is an important part of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Department of Immigration's efforts to streamline the entry process for foreign tourists and improve border security.

According to information, the new online procedure for obtaining a visa for Cuba should replace the previous tourist card in the medium term However, the deadline for the introduction of the mandatory e-visa is announced for 2025, so for today, tourists can still use the traditional “Tarjeta del Turista” - a green or pink colored tourist card (depending on citizenship).

Tourist cards can be issued at the Cuban Embassy in Germany, from some airlines at airports, and from commercial providers on the Internet.
