Covid-19-related medical proof is no longer required to obtain an e-visa for Papua New Guinea
Medical evidence related to Covid-19 is no longer required to obtain an electronic visa (e-Visa) to PNG.
Given successful efforts to control and prevent the spread of infection, the PNG government believes that reducing medical requirements for visas will stimulate tourism and encourage foreign investors to come to the country.
In 2024, Papua immigration authorities continued to require foreign visitors requesting an electronic visa (e-Visa) to provide a pandemic-related medical document up to and including February 13. A negative test was proof supported by a vaccination certificate or medical certificate.
Acting Head of Migration Wellington Nawasivu issued an appeal that the covid-19 medical document is no longer mandatory for visa applications. This cancellation will take effect from February 14, 2024 for visa applications submitted online.
