Tunisia visa news: launch of electronic visa

In the near future, Tunisia is preparing to introduce an electronic visa processing system for foreign citizens.

During the meeting of the Council of Ministers in May 2024, which was devoted to the introduction of electronic visas for foreign citizens, the head of Government stressed the importance of this project in the context of the strategic plan "Digital Tunisia 2025". This system will allow applicants to apply and obtain visas through a specially designed electronic platform, which will make the process more efficient and accessible.

According to the head of government, the new system will not only simplify the procedure for obtaining visas, but also significantly reduce the waiting time for tourists and business travelers. It is expected that this innovation will improve the tourist flow and strengthen Tunisia's economic ties with the world community.

Currently, tourists from most countries, including Europe (except for citizens of Cyprus) can visit Tunisia without a visa by presenting a valid identity card of their country. Additionally, a travel booklet received from a travel agency or a hotel booking confirmation is required, as well as tickets for the return flight.
