Thailand has announced an increase in the stay period to 60 days for nationals of 93 countries as part of tourism stimulation efforts

In May 2024, the Thai government announced a new visa policy program aimed at boosting tourism and economic growth by attracting more foreign tourists. As part of this program, the authorities are introducing increasingly attractive initiatives for visitors from abroad.

Note: The effective date of the new conditions will be announced once all necessary procedures have been finalized.

Thailand's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has published an updated list of countries whose citizens will be able to enter Thailand without a visa or obtain a visa on arrival, with the possibility of staying in the country for up to 60 days.

The list of new visa regulations includes the following changes:

  • Currently, citizens of 57 countries are allowed to enter Thailand without a visa for up to 30 days. Once the new conditions come into effect, citizens of these countries will be entitled to a stamp on arrival for 60 days, doubling the allowable stay.
  • In addition, nationals of six new countries (China, Laos, Macau, Mongolia, Russia, Cambodia) will be able to enter Thailand without a visa, with a stay of up to 60 days.
  • For 13 countries whose nationals previously received 30-day visas on arrival, 60-day visas on arrival will be provided.
  • Thailand will also allow citizens of 17 countries - Guatemala, Jamaica, Jordan, Kosovo, Morocco, Panama, Sri Lanka, Trinidad and Tobago, Tonga, Uruguay, Albania, Colombia, Croatia, Cuba, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador - to obtain a 60-day visa on arrival

These measures aim to strengthen Thailand's tourism sector by offering travelers more time to enjoy the country's cultural and natural diversity.
