Visas and e-visas to Seychelles

With the introduction of the electronic border system, entry and exit from the Republic of Seychelles has become faster and more convenient, eliminating the use of paper documents.

Under the Immigration Act, every foreign national arriving in the Republic of Seychelles is required to complete a digital Travel Authorization. This digital form replaces the previously used paper form and serves as an authorization to travel to the Republic of Seychelles. The Seychelles Immigration Service reserves the right to refuse entry.

Seychelles has reciprocal visa waiver agreements with a number of countries. Citizens of these countries are not required to obtain a visitor's permit for short-term stays under the terms of each agreement. For more information, please see the visa page.

Vaccinations for Seychelles

It is recommended to be immunized against several diseases to enter Seychelles to ensure safety for both yourself and the local population. The main recommended vaccinations are:

  1. Hepatitis A and B vaccination: It is possible to contract these viruses through contact with contaminated water or food, making these vaccinations important for tourists.
  2. Typhoid vaccination: This protects against infection through contaminated food and water, which can be a risk in some places on the islands.
  3. Rabies vaccination: Vaccination is recommended for those who plan an extended stay and intend to interact with local animals.
  4. Measles, Rubella and Epidemic Mumps Vaccination (MMR): Although not required for entry, it is recommended to be vaccinated against these diseases.
  5. A yellow fever vaccination certificate will only be required if you are coming from a country or region where the disease is endemic. If you are in the transit zone of an airport in an endemic region for less than 12 hours, you will not need a yellow fever vaccination certificate to travel to Seychelles.

Ensure that your vaccination certificate complies with the recommendations of international health organizations and confirms that you have been vaccinated to the required standards. Follow-up consultations with a medical professional can help you prepare for a safe and comfortable stay in Seychelles.

Traveling with children to Seychelles

Traveling with children to Seychelles is an amazing opportunity to create unforgettable memories for the whole family. Beautiful white sand beaches, warm Indian Ocean and unique nature make Seychelles an ideal destination for a family vacation.

When traveling with children, it is important to keep a few key points in mind. First, children must have valid passports. If a child is traveling without parents, an entry permit certified by both parents in English is required. This provides reassurance to the borders when checking documents.

Family hotels and resorts in Seychelles provide comfort and safety for children by offering entertainment programs and babysitting services. Many hotels also have kids clubs and playgrounds where the little ones can spend time while parents enjoy their vacations.

With a warm climate and clear seas, Seychelles offers the perfect conditions for a beach vacation with children. It is also important to make sure that your children have all the necessary immunizations as recommended by medical professionals before traveling to the islands.

Traveling with children to Seychelles will be a real adventure for the whole family, filled with joy, wonder and the opportunity to discover the unique natural beauty of this corner of the world.

Traveling with pets to Seychelles

Traveling to Seychelles with your dog requires some preparation and planning. First, you need to make sure that your dog has all the required vaccinations. Seychelles requires a rabies vaccination certificate, which must be valid at the time of entry.

To enter with your dog, you must also obtain authorization in advance. This includes the process of obtaining a veterinary certificate and an import permit issued by the Ministry of Agriculture and Resources.

When choosing accommodation, you should make sure that it allows pets and allows accommodation with animals. Many hotels in Seychelles offer services and facilities for dogs, including dog walks, food bowls and designated walking areas.

It is also important to prepare for your flight. Some airlines require special accommodations for pets, including special carriers and health documentation.

Once you arrive on the islands, be sure to follow local rules and regulations regarding behavior with animals. For example, dogs must be on a leash in public places, and keep the streets clean and orderly.

Going to the Seychelles with a dog opens up great opportunities for travel and adventure. With proper preparation and consideration, your trip will be comfortable and safe for both you and your four-legged friend.

Flight times and direct flights to Seychelles

Coconuts against the sea

A flight from Germany to Seychelles usually takes about 10-11 hours, depending on the specific route and transit stops. There are no direct flights from Germany to Seychelles, so most travelers choose routes with one or two connections.

Popular transit airports include Frankfurt, Zurich, Paris, Doha and Dubai. Connected flights can be convenient for travelers who prefer a choice of departure dates and times. It is important to check the schedule and duration of each connection in advance to plan your trip as comfortably and efficiently as possible.

Transit zones at Seychelles airports

The transit zone at Seychelles airports provides convenience for connecting travelers. Major airports such as Seychelles International Airport on the island of Mahé do not require passengers to have transit visas under certain conditions. Travelers must have continuing tickets and must not leave the transit area of the airport. This saves time and simplifies the transfer process.

If passengers have to leave the transit zone or their connecting flight is delayed for an extended period of time, appropriate visas may be required. It is important to check entry and transit conditions with the airline or Seychelles consulate in advance to avoid unforeseen complications.

Seychelles provides some visa exemptions for certain groups of travelers, which encourages freer movement through its transit zones. This makes Seychelles airports attractive to transit passengers, reducing waiting times and ensuring a comfortable journey.
