Entry requirements for the UAE: German citizens and citizens of the countries listed below receive a free visa for up to 30 days upon arrival at the airports in the UAE. This can be extended by one month at the local immigration office for a fee of approximately AED 650.00, which must be paid no later than two weeks before the visa expires.

Requirements for a visa on arrival are:

• A valid identification document
• Flight tickets for the return or onward journey
• Proof of sufficient financial means for the stay
• Tourist or business travel intentions (taking up employment – even unpaid – is strictly prohibited with a tourist visa. The business visa does not allow gainful employment).

The Federal Foreign Office points out that UAE border officials may collect biometric data (e.g. iris recognition) from travelers.

Cruise tourists have the option of applying for a multiple entry visa for three months. Information can be obtained from the cruise operators or the Emirati consulates. Business travelers can obtain a multi-entry visa with a validity of 6 months from an Emirati company (sponsor).

To enter the country, all foreign visitors require a passport or temporary passport that is valid for at least six months after the end of the trip. The passport should have at least one free page for a visa stamp and should not contain any Israeli stamps.
