Tajikistan introduces visa-free regime for travelers from 25 countries

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan has published a list of 25 countries with which a visa-free regime was introduced unilaterally from May 1, 2024. According to the decision of the Government of Tajikistan of March 28, 2024, citizens of the following 25 countries can now stay in Tajikistan without a visa for up to 30 days.

Pensioners from 16 countries are also exempted from the need to obtain an entry visa to travel to Tajikistan. The Tajik authorities also announced that they have approved a list of 16 countries whose citizens who are 55 years of age or older can benefit from a visa-free regime to enter Tajikistan.

This special regime allows citizens of the listed countries to stay in the country without the need for a visa for a maximum period of 14 days.

Since the beginning of 2022, Tajikistan has introduced a unique policy of unilateral visa-free travel for citizens of 52 countries, including European countries. Thanks to these changes, residents of 100 countries can now visit Tajikistan without a visa for a set period of time. If the time of stay exceeds the permitted visa-free period, travelers must apply for an electronic visa (e-Visa).
