Travelers will be able to apply for an e-visa to Vietnam through a new portal
Vietnam's Department of Immigration has officially announced the launch of an updated and simplified electronic visa application portal (e-Visa). The new portal will go live on November 11, 2024, offering a more convenient visa application process.
The updated program is a streamlined solution for travelers preparing to travel to Vietnam. This includes an updated and more user-friendly interface, as well as more detailed information for applicants, including answers to frequently asked questions in English and Vietnamese.
The new e-Visa portal will operate in parallel with the current one, which currently receives and processes up to 15,000 applications per day, facilitating the smooth operation of the current site and a smooth transition to the new Vietnam e-Visa system portal.
The new website requires the applicant to upload a photo of the applicant and a copy of the passport page with personal details in order to apply for an e-Visa.
The following information will need to be completed and verified:
- Personal data: surname, first name, date of birth, gender, nationality and others.
- Passport data: passport number, date of issue and expiration.
- Information about professional activity.
- Information about the type of visa required for the trip, plans and terms of stay.
Peculiarities of electronic visa
Since August 15, 2023, Vietnam's e-visa allows you to stay in the country for up to 90 days (previously the stay was 30 days). E-visa holders can enter through 42 points, including international airports, seaports and land checkpoints.
