Tips for Travelers to the UAE

The United Arab Emirates has quickly become one of the most popular destinations for many travelers. Planning the perfect trip to this Asian region is a true adventure, where you can enjoy magnificent skyscrapers, vast beaches and a unique blend of traditions. The UAE is a destination that attracts people from all parts of the world all year round.

The best time to visit the United Arab Emirates (UAE) depends on the preferences of the tourist and the type of vacation planned. The fall and spring months (September to April) have a pleasant climate that is ideal for a variety of activities and sightseeing. The winter months (November to February) also offer pleasant conditions for water sports and desert excursions. In summer (May to August), temperatures reach high levels, making outdoor activities less pleasant. The month of Ramadan, which changes annually according to the Islamic lunar calendar, involves fasting from sunrise to sunset, which affects social activities and restaurant service.

Visa. Most nationalities require a visa to enter the UAE. It can be issued on arrival at the airport. However, it is better to apply for an electronic visa in advance, as this speeds up passport control. A passport valid for at least 6 months is required.

Weather. In summer it is very hot in the UAE, the temperature can reach +50°C. The best time to travel is fall, winter and early spring, when daytime temperatures are around +30°C.

Clothing. It is recommended to wear modest clothing that covers the shoulders and knees. In public places, compliance with the dress code is mandatory.
Photography and video. You can film almost anything, with the exception of government buildings, military facilities and mosques. Ask permission before filming people.

Alcohol. Alcohol may only be consumed in licensed bars, restaurants and hotels. It is forbidden to get drunk on the street.

Transportation. Use public transportation and official cabs. Drive carefully and follow the traffic regulations.

Medicine. If necessary, go to private clinics and hospitals. Make sure you have taken out health insurance before you travel.

Safety. Thanks to strict laws and surveillance systems, street crime in the UAE is generally low. However, you should be careful in busy places such as markets, avoid carrying large amounts of cash and valuables and use safes in hotels. There is a high degree of driving discipline on the roads, but you should cross the road carefully. It is better not to leave any items unattended on the beaches. In emergencies, you can ask the police, the embassy or the travel agency for help. In general, taking precautions ensures safety when traveling in the UAE.
