UAE launched a long-term Blue Residency Visa program to attract environmental professionals

Applications for this long-term visa are officially open from February 2025, giving experts from around the world the opportunity to continue their important work in a country that actively supports the principles of sustainable development and eco-innovation.

The Blue Residency Visa is for those who make meaningful contributions to the protection of the planet. The visa can be obtained by:

• Winners of international awards in the field of sustainable development and combating climate change.
• Researchers and scientists developing solutions to climate challenges.
• Activists fighting for the protection of the environment.
• Members of international organizations working on sustainable development issues.
• Business leaders implementing green innovations.

Application Process:

• Get nominated: your nomination must be approved by the relevant UAE authority.
• Pre-approval: once approved, you will be given the opportunity to apply for a visa.
• Complete the application form: provide your full name, contact details, occupation and nationality.
• Documents: upload supporting documents of your contribution to sustainable development.
• Foreign applicants: if you are outside the UAE, apply for a six-month multiple entry visa first.
