Indonesia introduces annual E33G visa for digital nomads

In April 2024, Indonesia took a progressive step in visa policy by launching an updated visa program for digital nomads and remote workers.

New E33G remote worker visa simplifies the application process for those who want to settle temporarily in Indonesia. The initiative aims to make it easier for digital nomads and remote workers to live and work in Indonesia.

Important: holders of this type of visa are prohibited from working in local organizations and companies, as well as engaging in commercial activities directly in Indonesia.

The application can be submitted online and will require the following documents:

• A valid passport,
• A digital photograph,
• Proof of residency in Indonesia,
• Proof of sufficient funds of at least 2000 USD,
• Proof of employment with a company outside Indonesia (the employment contract must prove an annual income of at least 60,000 USD).

The E33G visa provides its holder with the following opportunities:

• Stay in the country for up to one year, renewable for an additional one year upon expiration of the visa,
• Free to enter and exit Indonesia,
• The ability to bring family members with them,
• Open a bank account,
• Ability to apply for visas to the USA, Schengen and other countries.
