Cuba announced the imminent launch of a new electronic visa issuance system

As we reported earlier, Cuba is introducing e-visas in 2025. To date, details of the visa have become known and a web portal for online applications is already available.

Many countries, including Cuba, are now looking to simplify visa applications and make it easier for foreign visitors to enter. Previously, tourists were issued tourist cards (green and pink), also known as tourist visas. With it, tourists could stay in the country for up to 90 days, and it was possible to extend the visa for another 90 days.

Last year, Cuba announced its intention to introduce an electronic visa (e-Visa), which would later replace the tourist card. The official portal for e-Visa applications is already open, but the Cuban authorities have not yet announced the exact date of activation of the new system, so tourists should receive a tourist card until the end of 2024.

The e-visa will be issued within a few days of application and will be valid for one year for a single entry to Cuba. It will authorize a stay in the country for up to 90 days with the possibility of extending it for another 90 days. The e-visa will also be linked to a tourist declaration, which must be completed 72 hours prior to arrival in the country.
