UAE has introduced a five-year multiple entry visa for Indian nationals
The UAE has introduced a five-year multiple entry visa for Indian nationals in a bid to increase tourist traffic. The visa will allow its holder to stay in the country for 90 days with the possibility of extension, but the total stay should not exceed 180 days in a year. According to the latest figures from the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, 2.46 million tourists from India visited Dubai between January and December 2023. The department said that with this initiative, tourists can now utilize the multiple entry and exit facility, which provides operational flexibility for business meetings and vacations.
The significant influx of Indian tourists has played an important role in Dubai's record-breaking visitor numbers for 2023, surpassing the overall mark of 17.15 million international visitors, according to the latest figures released by the DET. India, which showed an impressive 34% year-on-year growth, continues to lead the way among international tourists. This is fully in line with the objectives of the Dubai Economic Program D33, launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, over a year ago, to strengthen Dubai's position as one of the world's top three cities for business and leisure, as well as the best city to visit, live and work.
The DET noted that the UAE and India are key economic partners whose relationship has been strengthened by centuries of cultural exchanges, diplomatic cooperation and significant trade ties. The diversity of the Indian market allows Dubai to attract a wide range of travelers, catering to different preferences such as luxury shopping, cultural events, family attractions and business conferences.
