An e-visa issued by the Bahamas government should not be used as a work visa for employment in the Islands. The e-visa is not intended for employment in the Bahamas and it is illegal to use it for this purpose. If you intend to be employed in the Bahamas, you should contact the overseas office and apply for a work visa.

The Bahamas also offers the option of obtaining a visa on arrival. Citizens from a number of countries, such as India, who hold valid visas issued by the US, UK, Canada or any Schengen country are entitled to a 90-day stay on arrival. This visa is issued at the time of entry and holders can stay on the island for the specified period of time.

As for visitors arriving on cruise ships, they should pay attention to the issue of entry visas unless they are citizens of countries that have visa-free travel with the Bahamas. In addition, their departure from the island must also be by cruise ship.

A transit visa will be needed to transit through the Bahamas. A Bahamas transit visa is valid for 24 hours.
