Indonesia introduces new five-year visas
According to recent reports, Indonesia has announced significant changes to its visa policy in order to boost tourism. This strategic move includes the introduction of a five-year visa that will allow travelers to stay in the country for up to 60 days.
From December 20, this visa will replace the traditional single-entry tourist visa for 30 days. According to Silmi Karim, head of the Immigration Department, the extended stay and multiple-entry option is an integral part of the government's comprehensive efforts to boost economic growth. An innovative aspect of the new policy is the simplification of online applications through the convenience of credit card payment, making the entry process much easier for foreign nationals.
In a competitive global tourism environment, neighboring countries such as Malaysia, Thailand and Singapore are also actively reviewing their visa policies to attract visitors, especially from emerging markets such as India and China. By offering more flexibility and simplifying entry requirements, these countries are positioning themselves as attractive destinations for international travelers.
Indonesia's recent visa policy is therefore a bold move to promote economic growth through tourism. By extending the validity period of visas and simplifying online applications, the country is positioning itself as a more accessible and attractive destination.
