New UAE visa regulations: Simplified entry for many countries
Visa facilitation
The United Arab Emirates has made significant changes to its visa policy, significantly simplifying the entry procedure for citizens of 87 countries. Visiting the UAE now does not require a visa in advance, which increases the country's accessibility to international travelers and stimulates the development of the tourism industry.
Citizens of Gulf Cooperation Council member countries can enter the UAE visa-free by presenting their passport or ID card. This greatly speeds up the border crossing process and makes traveling more comfortable for them.
Upon arrival in the UAE, travelers from 87 countries are entitled to an entry visa for 30 days with the option to extend it for an additional 10 days. This allows them to experience the sights and culture of the Emirates more comfortably.
The list of countries whose nationals can extend their visa on arrival in the UAE includes 87 states, among them:
A special 90-day visa-free regime is available to citizens of certain countries, including India. Indians can avail the visa-on-arrival service with valid US visas or green cards, and UK or EU visas with at least 6 months validity. This privilege allows them to stay in the UAE for 14 days with the right to extend for the same period to delve deeper into local traditions and attractions.
These changes to the UAE's visa policy greatly increase the country's accessibility to international travelers and boost the tourism industry.
For those who do not fall under the visa-free regime, it is required to obtain an entry permit in advance from an official sponsor in the UAE. The type of permit required depends on the purpose of the visit and is issued through the General Directorate of Residents and Foreigners Affairs.
