Apply for ETA in Sri Lanka for transit passengers

Transit in Sri Lanka - not without ETA

If you have a stopover in Sri Lanka on your way to your final destination, all travelers, including German citizens, must obtain an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA for transit). This requirement applies even to transit stops.

ETA is a paperless online visa that can be applied for through the internet. The application is submitted in digital format, which significantly simplifies the process. You can order the required authorization directly through our visa agency, and we will take care of the entire application process. Upon approval, you will receive the ETA in electronic form. Although your personal data will be available to border services, it is recommended to print the ETA confirmation and have it with you upon entering the country.

A stopover in Sri Lanka also provides an excellent opportunity for day trips and exploring unique corners of this beautiful country. A brief stay in Sri Lanka can be particularly attractive for those heading to Malaysia, Singapore, the Maldives, or returning from there.
