For all foreigners staying in the landlocked country between the Caspian Sea and the Caucasus for more than 15 days, there is a registration requirement. Registration must be done immediately upon entry into the Republic of Azerbaijan, but no later than within a 15-day period at the State Migration Service.

German and EU citizens, as well as citizens of many other countries, require a visa for the Republic of Azerbaijan. An exception is transit at the airport in Baku. Azerbaijani immigration authorities only accept passports as identification documents. The same entry requirements apply to children as to adults. Visa on Arrival is not available for Germans.
