If you plan to stay in Malaysia for more than the authorized period of time, you may need a visa run (visa run, border run). To do this, you can leave the country (e.g. travel to Singapore or Thailand) and then return. However, frequent use of visa run may result in denial of entry (it is not recommended to use this method more than once or twice).

Frequently Asked Questions

Is a visa a guarantee of entry into a country?

A visa is not a complete guarantee that you can stay in Malaysia for any purpose. The decision to enter Malaysia is made by the immigration officer at the point of entry. Even if you are not required to apply for a Malaysian visa before traveling, you will still be stamped in your passport and need to go through border control. Thus, obtaining a Malaysia visa is required to enter the country but is not a guarantee - you will need permission from an immigration officer. You can get a visa to Malaysia online on our website. Fill out the application form and submit your Malaysia visa application.

Do minor children have to get a visa?
