Azerbaijan simplifies obtaining e-visa

Azerbaijan introduces changes to the e-visa process. The e-visa program was launched to make the process of obtaining a short-term entry permit quick and convenient for citizens of 98 countries. The processing of e-visa to Azerbaijan is simple and straightforward. To apply, you need to fill out a form, provide personal and passport data, and answer some questions.

Foreign citizens wishing to apply for a visa (e-Visa) to travel to Azerbaijan are now exempted from the need to provide information about their trips to the Nagorno-Karabakh region. This change was introduced by a decree signed by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on July 22, 2024.

Before this decree came into effect, e-visa applicants were required to report whether they had visited the Nagorno-Karabakh region or other territories that had been under the control of the Republic of Armenia since 1991. Nagorno-Karabakh is a region in the Transcaucasus where the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh Republic is located.

An e-visa to Azerbaijan, also known as an Asan visa, is a single-entry authorization for short-term stay in the country for eligible citizens. The e-visa process has been designed to simplify the application and expedite border control at Azerbaijan's main port of entry. This visa is issued electronically by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The electronic visa allows travelers to stay in Azerbaijan for up to 30 days and is valid for 90 days from the date of issuance. With this visa, travelers can enter the country through any sea, air or land ports. You can find out more about e-visa on our website in the E-visa to Azerbaijan section.
