Tourist visa Kazakhstan

Citizens of the following nations no longer need a tourist visa for a vacation in Kazakhstan since January 1, 2017:

Germany, Australia, Belgium, Bulgaria, Chile, Denmark, Greece, Great Britain, Estonia, Italy, Ireland, Israel, Iceland, Canada, Korea, Croatia, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Malta, Mexico, Monaco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Austria, Poland, Portugal, Romania, United Arab Emirates, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Turkey, Czech Republic, Hungary, United States of America, Finland, France, Switzerland, Sweden, Japan, and Cyprus.

All foreign travelers staying in the country for more than 30 days are required to apply for a visa before traveling. Citizens of countries not mentioned above are subject to a visa requirement for Kazakhstan regardless of the duration of their stay.

Tourists entering Kazakhstan without a visa must provide the following documents to the immigration authorities:

• Passport, valid for at least three months beyond the end of the trip
• Proof of return or onward travel
• Possibly: Confirmation of sufficient financial means for the stay

Entry permits for Kazakhstan are issued by the foreign representations of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In Germany, the Kazakh embassy in Berlin and its branch office in Bonn, as well as the Consulate General in Frankfurt a. M., are responsible for consular inquiries. The authorities explicitly point out that visa applications must be submitted in person or through accredited visa agencies.
